We invite you to take part in the Urban Network panels of the 37th annual
\nmeeting of the Social Science History Association, November 1-4, 2012, in
\nVancouver. The members of the Social Science History Association share a
\ncommon interest in interdisciplinary and systematic approaches to
\nhistorical research (including, but by no means limited to, sociology,
\nurban planning, geography, demography, economics, and political science).<\/p>\n
The thematic topic of the 2012 annual meeting is \u201cHistories of Capitalism.\u201d
\nHowever, we welcome papers and panels on all urban topics. Proposed panel
\ntopics include:<\/p>\n
– The Occupy Movement as an urban phenomenon<\/p>\n
– Financial Crises and Cities<\/p>\n
– Capital and the Rise and Fall of Cities<\/p>\n
– Urban Economies<\/p>\n
– Vancouver\u2019s History and Development<\/p>\n
– Cities of the Pacific Rim<\/p>\n
– Olympic Games and Host Cities<\/p>\n
– Migration and Immigration<\/p>\n
– Cities and the Environment<\/p>\n
– Urban Governance<\/p>\n
– Crime and Justice in the City<\/p>\n
– The Ancient City<\/p>\n
To propose a paper or panel please submit: Panels should include an organizer, discussant, and at least four papers.
