THE RURAL URBAN RELATIONSHIP – 7th World Environmental Education Congress (WEEC)
\nMarrakech, Morocco

Previous WEEC congresses have taken place in Portugal, Brazil, Italy,
\nSouth. This is the first time the conference will take place in a country
\nof Arab and Muslim culture. Morocco, among other things, is in a state of
\nflux. A new constitution has been in force since the end of 2011. A country
\nwith a long history and great artistic and natural assets, Morocco has in
\nMarrakech a pearl of international fame.<\/p>\n
Another interesting aspect is the theme chosen by the Local Organizing
\nCommittee: the rural-urban relationship, a particularly sensitive issue in Morocco
\nwhere, like many other countries, an exodus from the countryside and a
\nstrong process of urban migration is occurring. In addition, climate change
\nis bound to exacerbate the problem of water shortage, strongly felt in
\nMorocco as in many other countries.<\/p>\n
